One of the most significant aspects of this announcement is the shift from CD Projekt Red’s REDengine technology to Unreal Engine 5 for the development of this new Witcher game. Developers from CD PROJEKT RED will collaborate with Epic Games with the primary goal being to help tailor the engine for open-world experiences.
Aside from project Polaris, the studio also announced that they are working on multiple big projects including the remake of the Witcher 1, the spin-off Witcher title code named Project Sirius and the upcoming sequel to Cyberpunk 2077.
