The new Call of Duty Black Ops was fully unveiled during the Xbox games showcase. On this occasion, we are going to take a look at the fate of the popular characters of this series and what their situation is at the time of the Black Ops 6 story. Stay tuned.

This content spoils the important events of Call of Duty Black Ops 2 and the Cold War games.

A huge part of the events in the Black Ops series happened during the “Suffer With Me” mission in the second game. During this mission, Raul Menendez manages to capture Frank Woods, Alex Mason, Jason Hudson, and David Mason. Since these events happened before the Persian Gulf War and the narrative events of Black Ops 6, their outcomes are very important.

Please note that the analyses presented in this article for the presence of characters are based on the time of the Persian Gulf War. In case of a flashback or a jump to the future, we could see some of the dead or disappeared characters in 1990.

Alex mason

Status: Disappeared until 2025 (main storyline); Dead (alternate ending)

The fate of Alex Mason, the main character of the Black Ops series, is determined in Call of Duty Black Ops 2. In the main ending, Frank Woods shoots Mason in the leg during the “Suffer With Me” mission, and he survives. However, this does not necessarily mean that he will definitely appear in Black Ops 6. After being injured, Mason disappears until 2025, and even his son does not know if he is alive. If Mason survived, he would be approximately 57 years old in 1990.

Frank Woods

Status: Alive with severe injuries

Death Eagle from the Call of Duty series and David Mason are the only ones who survive in any situation from the Just Cause operation and the siege by Menendez. After Woods is hit by Menendez, he paralyzes both of his legs with a shotgun, and as a result, Woods is forced to use a wheelchair for the rest of his life. He is exempt from military service after the Just Cause operation. Woods, who had no friends or family after Mason’s disappearance/death, decided to take care of David. Activision has recently released a teaser featuring him in COD Warzone, in this short video, Woods can be seen on his wheelchair. Frank Woods will be approximately 60 years old in 1990.

Jason Hudson

Status: Dead

Jason Hudson, a special CIA agent, is the only definite victim of Raul Menendez in the Suffer With Me mission of Black Ops 2. He sacrificed himself during the confrontation with Menendez to keep Woods and David alive.

Grigori Weaver

Status: ?

Gregory Weaver, a special agent of the CIA, is one of the most important non-playable characters in the Black Ops series. Despite his absence in the Black Ops Cold War story, Weaver played a central role in the Zombies section of the game. According to the files and conversations in this section, Weaver died at an unknown time after 1985. It’s unclear whether Treyarch will influence Black Ops 6 with the side stories of the Zombies section and whether they are currently aware of them or not. But as I and the majority of you guess, this studio probably won’t connect the Zombies events to the main story. If Weaver is present in Black Ops 6, he will be 54 years old.

David Mason

Status: Alive

David Mason, who is also known as the secret name, Section, in adulthood, is the only child of Alex Mason. He was a main and playable character in Black Ops 2 alongside his father and Frank Woods. David was kidnapped by Menendez when he was only 7 years old and was forced to watch the death/injury of Alex Mason. After that incident, David lived under the supervision of Frank Woods, his father’s close friend. David Mason was about 11 years old during the Gulf War and the events of Black Ops 6.

Russell Adler

Status: Alive and under pursuit (main storyline); Dead (alternate ending)

Russell Adler, the American monster and special agent of the CIA, will play a significant role in Black Ops 6. In this game, he is under pursuit by the United States forces. Treason, hostage-taking, murder of government employees, and providing war resources to enemies are the charges against Adler. It’s still unclear which side the player is on in Black Ops 6, but one thing we can be sure of is that the new Call of Duty Black Ops, like previous games, will have story twists and many surprises. Russell Adler is 53 years old during the events of Black Ops 6 and the Gulf War.
